The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The carrot of worldly blessings must always be there

No 651 of Living Life Series 1

It is the teachings that count and not the man behind the teachings. But having said that, that man must be a sage among men before men will be attracted to him and gravitate to what he stands for. But the problem is that when men hero-worship him, they idolise the God in him and in time the man that he is.

Such a man need not be a pioneer of religions and sects but can be the monk or pastor at the pulpit. Then people in the crowd see him as the stand-in for the pioneer or sage. He is in fact the modern day sage but with one difference. He is not starting a new religion but perhaps a new sub-denomination.

This is good as then there will be refreshing ways of presenting the teachings but with a new cover and revised texts - like the revision and rewriting of a book. The up-sides are there but surely in life as long as men are involved there will be issues and problems - the down-sides.

Lord Bo Tien
武天菩萨

As the good lord Lord Bo Tien puts it, the issues and problems of men are many and plentiful. The teachings may contain the basic pure truths but men who flock to the man behind the teachings often come to the fore and add their thinking, opinions and ideas and pass them off as the original teachings of the originator.

This may seem not good but how else can religions reinvent themselves, repackage themselves to catch the attention of the masses caught up in the materialistic life of the day.

More interestingly, it is often that the temple or house of God has to be teaming with materialistic and worldly schemes to attract the crowd and beef up the flock. This can up the materialistic index in the lives of men and counter the spiritual platform.

But how else can there be the magnetic attraction. We need nectar for insects to come to the flower. We need to have worldly blessings before more men can come to a temple and hopefully in time they will go for the teachings or doctrines and grasp the truth behind the teachings. The carrot of worldly blessings must always be there. This is always the case.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien said so. He did say that insects are attracted to the flower for nectar and blame not the flower for insects coming to it. Is a temple a flower?
