The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Are we at peace?

No 655 of Living Life Series 1

What men want from God is different from what God wants from men.

In spiritual matters, what God wants in men is to have the peace of Heaven even as men. But the irony is that religion is about men and where men congregate, there will be issues and problems.

武天菩萨
Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien says that the problems and issues of men are many and plentiful. He also says that those that are near to God and saints may in fact be far.

Men of religion are meant to be peaceful if they have God and saints with them but the reality of the matter is that they are not as peaceful as they should be.

The signs of spirituality are fellowship, social support and gratitude to God and saints for the many blessings men have through religion. These may be present.

But the acid test is the question every man of religion must answer. Are they peaceful? Many may experience the blessings of God but they are still far from peaceful. Why is this the case?

They lack the purity of mind to be imbued with peace of spirit - to be like God and heavenly saints.

Are we peaceful as men of God and saints? We may be in the house of God, surrounded by men who professed to be of God and heavenly saints but are we at peace with our spirit, with life and with the world.

Are we at peace? If we are, we have arrived spiritually. If not we have to be more peaceful by not struggling or striving to be peaceful but by being at peace with the ups and downs of life - the yin and the yang.

One of the favorite questions Ji Gong asks of men in religion is,"Are you at peace?"

Ji Gong 济公

Religion is about how to be at peace. In the old days as it should be of the present, the emphasis is on the individual and Divinity. With time, it has included how men relate to other men in the house of God and saints. This is good but is also the problem. Men being men are still men. The problems and issues of men are many and plentiful.

The house of God and saints is primarily for man to relate to God and saints. It is not the house of Men but the house of God and saints. Up to a point, men need fellowship and fraternity and this is good.

But the goodness is finite and may open up the doors to issues and problems of men. That is why the sages of old said that there must be that balance of yin and yang - the polarities or opposites of life.
