No 1211 of Living Life Series 1
What is appealing to some may not be so to others. But this does not mean they should stop others from not having what they dislike.
The durian a pungent but tasty fruit is one. Loved by some but hated by others. Smelly tofu is another example. It smells like shit but simply wonderful to eat for some. Beauty or what is appealing is in the eyes of the beholder.
Well, popular religion is like that. There are not one but many religions and cultures. It is not right to say one religion or culture is the only good or correct one. It is also not right to say that the person who says so is wrong.
But like food and fruits, religions provide the taste to whet up the appetites of some but may be repulsive to others.
But taste may be the starter or attraction. What matters is the nutrition - a balanced one. This is the basic.
But many will not go for this basic if blend and unappealing. There is the same inner truth that is the basic behind all religions to nourish the souls.
But it must be cooked and presented as different dishes to reach out to more men and to give people choices. That is why we have garnishings and other add-ons which make the dishes seem different.
Religions are like that. They must be popular to some but not to everyone. But some advocate only one religion. Why go for only one when we can go for more? More dishes would be better.
Won't it be silly to go for only one dish when we can have more dishes? Of course we must not gorge ourselves with food and cause indigestion and ill-health.
Religion must not just present the blend basic or inner truth of the need to be good and pure in spirit to be like God and saints. There must be garnishings, add-ons and spices. There must be variety. We can even go for all religions and have the best of all worlds. Some don't mind and find all religions tasty.
Isn't this a sumptuous or culinary way of explaining the Inner Truth Doctrine of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. There is God and saints. There are popular religions for men. This is the will of God. This will then be able to reach out to more people.
