The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Going to God for more of the world than of God

No 1227 of Living Life Series 1



We cannot get what we want from life, we turn to religion. If religion cannot promise us that, we are turned off. We go to another religion or sect that can do so. This is one reason there is the sprouting of new denominations and perhaps even new religions. 

We looked down on the practices of the forefathers for being simply odd. They walked across fires to cleanse themselves and have good luck. But then we find it alright and logical to dip ourselves into water to cleanse themselves and be reborn into goodness of sorts. People from age old cultures have been doing so in holy rivers and lakes whose water flows from the mountains. 

Aren't all doing the same thing? All want what they cannot get or find hard to get in life. They turn to religion and presto by some ritual and faith, they will get what they want. 

But alas what they want are more of the world and less of the spirit. Perhaps the spirit is an excuse for them to get more of the world - more of the worldly life than spiritual life. 

Men like to delude themselves they can have more of the world which they cannot get in the world by going to God and religion. 

With a crowded world and with the I want to be better than my neighbor attitude, there is a strong push for more of the world. Of all places religion become the very place for this. It fuels the worldly clamor that religion originally and in the first place wants us to have less off. 

That is why we have the prosperity gospel. This fuels on the greed of men. Give more to religion and God, and more you will have. Is this based on sincerity and honesty? 

Well it can still be so and there are indeed not just a few but many who are living testimony of that. But it is undeniable that people are attracted to religion for the wrong purpose for their own worldly agenda. 

They are like insects attracted to the flower for nectar. This is the observation of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. While men may judge and not condone, God and saints seem to go along. 

Well, these are the very ones who need to gravitate towards God - never mind if they come for nectar and appear to want to be with God and saints outwardly. They will learn but they need to be given many chances to learn. They must come into the orbit of God and saints.
