Respect for elders is here to stay and is enshrined as one of the universal precepts at Bo Tien Temple and Mission. There are two notable elders who come to mind.
One is the late P.Philip and it is through him that the good lord Lord Bo Tien descended in 1969 to kick start the mission to save souls not through any new religion or sect but through all religions.
The other is the Elder Ling Diung Kwong age 78 in 2014 but nevertheless keen to put things right and this he would always see to and ever do they all say.
Respect for parents and elders like Michael Wong, William Chew, David Tay, Alfred Toh, C K Tay, Michael Aw and Pete Kong are in the precepts at the temple of the good lord. This is ever so true, more so when all are pioneers and mellowed by years of life and wisdom.
So long as precepts are kept sacrosanct, any mission and temple will have a great future and better days to come for the benefit of all beings. Precepts like respecting elders are ever so sacred.
Do go to read the precepts of a temple when you visit any temple. At the temple of the lord, they are on the pillar wall. The writing is on the wall they say.
