The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Matter of taming and not glorifying the ego in man

No 1025 of Living Life Series 1

Synopsis. Bad in man due to demon. Man pushes blame to demon. His ego does not allow him to accept blame. Good in man praise God. Man cannot claim credit lest he inflates ego and be bad. Not that God need credit for the good man does, but that man must tame ego to be at peace. That is the basic teaching common to all religions and reflected in the image of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨  - to be at peace by being atop ego and its elements - the good and the bad

Taming the beast in man refers to suppressing the bad in man. Man does not want to be blamed and so the blame falls on the demon. Thus we say that there is the demon in man and the fault lies in the demon and not the man.

By just pushing the blame, man has the excuse that he is not the culprit or demon. Is he then absolved from blame? Can someone be the reason for his mistakes? Did someone commit the mistakes for him?

It is just like the young toddler falls and cries. The toddler looks up to the mother. The mother tells him matter of fact manner that the floor is to be blamed. She says and beats the floor saying, "Naughty floor" and adds thus, "you will not fall again." When something goes wrong, blame others and all will be well. Is this the case?

When something goes right in a man, others thank God the lord however trivial this may be. The man has done good and credit is due to him. But others would rather give credit to God and saints. How puny and odd can this be?

Won't it be better to give credit where credit is due and to seek God's blessings and guidance so that more good can come out of the man? Some even go further to rejoice in his good and transfer merits to God and saints.

Credit the man not God for the good in the man. At best, after the man is credited for his good, he may want to look up to God for the impetus to do more good.

Taming the beast and glorifying God in man will ever be what men do. They want to push blame when wrong. They want not to swell in head when right. This diabolical or outrageous approach has to do with the ego in man.

The ego is the beast and the ego can make man think he is as good as God when he is good. Thus because of the latter, some do think it is better to credit God for the good that man do.

Isn't this over doing things - overstretching logic far too much? Isn't this being somewhat absurd and doing more than the normal for glorifying God for the good God didn't do but the man did? God do not need such attention bordering on flattery at times.

What better ways can there be? Go for facts and logic man ! This is the basic truth we must have.

Tame the ego, the fear and guilt and keep the peace. This is the way to be sane and not ruffle the peace - not bring out the beast in us.

All these do add up to what is the Word in the image of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 - a picture of peace with the ups and downs of life under his feet. We too must be like that if we can but a little at a time will do. Better a little more peace by the moment and by the day then to flop miserably when we go for more.
All need to be divine and at peace come what may. It is a matter of taming and not glorifying the ego in man.

All religions have this as the goal but introduce this in more appealing and subtle ways to reach out to the crowd. Just telling them point blank in the face to be this or that will not work.

There must be ingenious ways for sure. So there will ever be new ways and don't write them off from the word 'go', they say. Don't grumble and tumble if there is one religion or one sect too many. This is the wisdom of God and saints.

Thus dear friends, killing the beast does not mean killing someone possessed by demon or killing the demon. Killing the beast is to kill the ego in man. Try not to use the word kill but to use the word tame. Taming the ego sounds more right.

Glorifying God and saint is not that God and saint are in need of praise for they have no ego and no pride. They are beyond need for glory. It means that we don't blow up our ego and that is it. A spade is just a spade and nothing more. In that sense, where is the need to bring God and demon literally into the picture? These reflect the two egocentric aspects of the man - the good and the bad.

Well that just wrap things up. All need to be divine and at peace come what may. We need too to be harmless to life of any sorts and form. It is a matter of taming and not glorifying the ego in man. No need to call this taming the beast and glorifying God for that may send wrong signals and bring forth the ego and worst of man.

Let us stone or rather tame the devil of the ego in us and not be stoned wild and blur by the ego. Let us see things as they are - no more and no less. Let us not blow things up and end up absurd. That is it and so must this be.

That would be according glory to God in the highest and on Earth adding to the peace among men ... though of course we may say that God is beyond need for glory. Men may need glory but not God and saints. Amen to man.
In summary, the fallacy is for man to blame the bad in him to demons. His ego cannot accept that he can err. Man pushes blame to demon.

When he does good, he is told to praise and give credit to God. Man cannot claim credit lest he inflates ego and be bad.

This is not that God need credit for the good man does, but that man must tame ego to be at peace. That is the basic teaching common to all religions and reflected in the image of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 - to be at peace by being atop ego and the elements - the good and the bad which can grow the ego.

There is need to suppress the ego. It is a matter of taming and not glorifying the ego in man.

Ego too creates sharp demarcation between religions and these can be cause for concern. Problems of religions and between religions are due to the ego in men. For more of this, do view:-
