No 1037 of Living Life Series 1
In life, we have to be pragmatic. We cannot be the boss of our own business just because we want to. We have to learn by being employed first, gather capital and then after having the know-how, then we can be on our own. There is no certainty of success.
The fallacy is to think we can do it from the word "go" though of course there are some who could. We will be daydreaming. We may not even take off.
Another fallacy in life is that we think that to have an income as employees, we just need to join a company and we can have our pay. We just believe and respect the boss, never mind if we can perform and do the job. There is no free lunch and if we idle and not pick up the ropes, where do we stand in the end?
Likewise in religion, we think that all we need to do is to believe and worship God and saints. We will be saved. We think this is the way. We just believe and that is it. Of course, this will not work. But many say this will be. It is just like saying the boss of a company will do the jobs and the workers do nothing. They only need to believe in the boss to have their keeps.
Then there are those who think that all they need is to know the Word or teaching and they can go direct to sainthood on their own. A few may make it if they have past know-how in previous lives.
But for the majority, they need still to believe and have faith in God, do what they can and be guided. They need the shelter of God and saints to tide over storms of life. They need to learn step by step in a guided and protected social environment.
They will face problems. The problems of men are many and plentiful. Men do need guidance for issues. Issues if small will be no issue. But if big, some even with divine blessing will not be no issues but end up as small issues. Moreover there is the element of fate and affinity. This was stressed by the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨.
The fallacies in life apply to all religions and to life outside religion. The good lord Lord Bo Tien武天菩萨says that the principles that apply to spiritual life apply too to secular mundane life. There cannot be two standards.
