No 718 of Living Life Series 1
Many regard the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) as a Taoist deity and that is true and yet not so.
He came down as a Chinese temple deity and to show that even in a Chinese temple, there is the same basic inner truth that is behind all religions. He is actually no Chinese general or deity.
He should be viewed as the messenger of Heaven to pave the way for the mission to motivate people of all religions to see the oneness of the same basic or inner truth behind all religions.
He is not here to start a new religion or sect but to merely show that there is still that same inner truth of God and the need for inner peace even in a traditional Chinese temple.
In this respect therefore, there is no need for followers for he is not here to be a new deity of Taoism or to start a new sect or favor any religion.
But in another respect in so far as the mission to motivate people of all religions to better know the oneness of religions, he has followers.
But his followers must serve the mission of God which is to show to people of all religions the oneness of religions and in that way make them more committed to their religions and rally their religions to be in harmony with all religions.
Followers of the good lord need not be Taoists or Chinese traditionalists but can belong to any religion. This has been emphasized by the good lord.
They must live up to his exhortation that his image is the doctrine and the doctrine is his image.
The multiplicity of colors of his Chinese military armor depicts the plurality of cultures, races and religions of the world.

Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) |
His right hand holds the scepter or instrument of the mission for God. The mission is to save souls and religions are the pillars for this mission.
The way to save souls is through the religions and men of any religion must cultivate the basic divine inner peace by being atop and balancing the ups and downs of life - the yin and yang. This is as depicted by his feet on the elements.
His left hand in salutation bids all to be steadfast, firm and be on course.
As said, let us surmise that Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) descended in 1969 as messenger of God through the late P.Philip not to start a new religion but to show the oneness of God and divine inner peace through all saints and religions.
Thus the followers of the good lord can be of any religion or even of none but must see and further the oneness of religions and sects for the good of one and all.

They must be better at being Buddhists, Taoists or adherents of any religion or sect because they grasp the understanding of the mission he undertakes. That way they help to see to the mission to save souls of all humans through their respective religions. They are good role models and enable others to emulate what they do for the good of the many.
Yes, traditionally speaking, there is strictly no need for followers but pragmatically speaking, all in the various religions or even those with no religion are his followers if they know and live in the Word and are able to be exemplary to save souls - their own as well as others.
He does not need glory and need not display any. So the issue of whether he has followers is a matter of definition. His image is not meant to be an object of worship of households but is meant to project the mission to save souls not through any specific religion or sect but through all beings and men of all religions.
