Religion today is often the oversell of what the founder wanted it to be. Isn't this something we have to think about?
If religion is good enough, is there the need to sell it to the public, let alone oversell?
By doing so, we are only undoing much of the good intention of the founder. Many may end up discrediting other sages to give credit to their sage. Much are said of the founder that may be unfounded and may even be distasteful.
A founder is a sage. A sage comes not to abolish the law but to fulfil it. A sage comes not to replace other sages but to fulfil their legacies. The purpose of a saint or sage is to further the good of past sages.
That is why the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 is no new sage but here to show the good work of all sages and religions. All religions are one in goodness and in God.
But a few get carried away and think the good lord is here to replace other sages. He is here to point out and further their good work and words. He is not here to eclipse the goodness of other saints but to let the goodness of other saints shine even more.
By knowing him, we know the other sages better and are better at being followers of other sages and saints. By going to him, people become better at the religion they are in.
They change from good to better or at least from not good to good. That is better than jumping ship, starting afresh and feeling uprooted, misplaced and alienated from the religion they start off with.
By going away from their saint to him, they end up near to the saint of their religion though they may seem to go far away from their saint.
The good lord says the far can be near and the near far. They may come near to the good lord but the nearer they are to him the further they will be.
They will end up far from him and near to the saint or sage of their religion. When this happens, they are still near to him. Do you get it?
By being near to him, we will be far from him. This happens when we are steady and independent and knows what to do and expect in life
Then we are near and yet far from him. We are both near and far from him. We are neither near nor far from him.
There is only need to know the Word - the truth that makes us better at what we are and makes us more whole. This is what matters. It is not necessary to be near or far from him.
What matters is we know the truth that sages of all religions stand for. We must know this well enough to love to put it into practice.
He who knows the truth or Word knows the lord or for that matter all saints. He who does not, knows not the lord or any other saint. That is why the good lord says the Word is him and he is the Word.
Didn't many say that God is the Word and the Word is God? Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 is here to better bring out the Word touched on by other saints - the Word that is good and underlies all religions and from which arise the religions and the sects.
Many see the diversity and the differences but not the oneness. The good lord is here not to replace the other saints but to show the oneness of saints and religions - to bring out the common inner truth behind all. Then they can appreciate better the need for differences.
There is goodness and there is God. There is need to live in the Word to have inner peace come what may - the ups and downs, the differences and the all.
