No 1104 of Living Life Series 1
By all means be religious and be good but at no time should we run down the goodness of others as not good. That will mean we are not really that good.
When like the moon, we eclipse the sun, darkness and gloominess will set in for all. Luckily, this will not last long and people will see through the goodness of the religion they hail from.
This happens when they learn that in fact their religion has the same goodness and gives the same peace or even more because they are familiar and can easily be better at what they are, in the religion they grow up with.
This is the advice of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 when he descended in 1969 to show the same oneness of God and goodness in religions and sects.
To make it clearer, it is better to be a good Christian than an inapt Buddhist. The teachings of Buddha is universal. We don't have to be Buddhists to embrace the principles, to meditate and to be more mindful and have more peace.
We are what we are but can be better at what we are. We cannot be what we are not and trying to be what we are not. Give this more thought. Go not for label change but for true change for better. For that, it is better to stay put, learn from all religions and be better off by staying put.
Go not for lock stock and barrel change - the package deal. We will end up with both good and bad. Go for the good and incorporate this into the existing good which we retain if we stay put. This comes naturally to us.
But when package deal comes into the picture, what do we expect? We may end up one step forward but two steps backward. This is because some like to sell religion with package deal in the fore.
One day, we may see that we trade in our religion as part of the package deal... That is not to be for sure but with some men, anything goes.
It may even seem alright if done smartly though this is not expected in religion. We can trade in our religion and we get a new one, but we retain and continue to do what we have been doing on top of doing the more in the new religion we go into.
We still get the best of both worlds and will be better than what we are. We are still staying put but we change labels. It is a matter of fad. It doesn't matter so long as we are still staying put and be better at what we are.
The difference is that we want to be trendy and ride on a new fad which is not new but just a change of label. We want to stand out and be different. We want the world to know. This is human nature. But we will still end up the same but also definitely better.
