The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Should we go for beyond even the beyond?

No 698 of Living Life Series 1

The spirituality that gives the taste of more peace is beyond what we know in the mundane life as man. It is the peace that comes with love and wisdom. It is peace that comes with correct approach of not denying what we are or going for eternity of supposedly promise of paradise.

For many centuries, men have tried to deny the senses and even their life thinking that then they can be out of this world and be immortalized in spirit and be beyond man. They deny life of the body and even live without food or even induce death like state.

But all these bring men far from being alive to life. Instead they experienced the dying process way before death is due. Well for short stints, this can be good learning process but such approach is myopic. Men do need to go beyond this limited view and go for more holistic and helicopter view. Some refer to this as the denial of life.

Then there are those who think that there is eternity of paradise better than the best of what we have as man. This they are told can come if we just surrender and worship a God-head. This may seem better approach than the denial of life as man.

They get the relief that all will be well as the God-head will take care of all matters and when things don't seem right, they say that they are under trials by the God-head. Well, certainly there is peace for them in a way but to sustain this, they have to live in their world of assumption that the God-head knows and will provide. To them this is reality and not assumption. But isn't a mirage in the desert as real as it can be to the beholder? This peace from view of eternal paradise is beyond the here and now.

But for both categories, the ones who deny life of flesh and the ones who live for promise of paradise in afterlife, there is a catch. What if there is more to the beyond they hold on to?

There again, we can go on and on. We will not be able to arrive at an answer that satisfies all. Let us then wake up and not strive for the beyond or worse still go for beyond the beyond.

Let us make the present a divine experience. The sages of old in China have the answer as did the sages elsewhere.

Confucius (孔夫子) says, "Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated." We do not live life based on the rules or dogmas set by men. We do not do more to please the expectations of those at the pulpit in a house of God.

What matters is not what we do or what goes through our gut but what is in our heart and what goes through the gut. Didn't Ji Gong (济公) said so. It is better way to have the heartfelt peace than to be tied up with the rules and dogmas and have less or no peace.
Ji Gong (济公)
We should never deny the present and go for the beyond. We don't need to do that and worst still would be to try to go beyond the beyond.
Confucius (孔夫子)

Let us follow what Confucius (孔夫子) says. Life is really simple and let it be the way to have peace and paradise now. The ups and downs around us should not matter. We just be atop them and not be affected even if we cannot change them. We just have to manage and be atop. We simply live the true life and realize that "life is really simple but it is us who often insist that we make things complicated" even in religion and spirituality.

Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) wants us to know that the inner truth behind religions are one and same. It is simple, really simple and not out of this world - not as complicated or contorted as many want us to believe.
Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨)

There are God and saints. They are there to help. But we need to help ourselves. There is the peace in spirit which we must have.

Surely this cannot only depend on others, not even God and saints though they can help. We must cultivate the peace of the spirit here and now.

We must be alive to life and live life that is simple and free. We must not be caught in the cobweb of complications we create and spin for ourselves and for fellow men.
