The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Living in transit

No 474 of Living Life Series 1

The life of man is pitifully short compared to many in Heaven and many of those in the pits of Hell. If one is on travel from Hell to Heaven, life as man is as though the individual is in transit.

Unlike saints of Heaven who can be everywhere in Heaven, Earth and Hell, many beings cannot do so. If they come as men to Earth, they are in transit of sorts.

One day in Heaven or Hell is longer than life of a man. It is as though that being reborn as man is like a life in transit and that Earth is a domain of Heaven.

In a way, we can say that Earth and Hell are domains of Heaven. Hell is the reeducation domain where those who had done wrong face the consequences of their self-created karma and undergo cleansing, reflection and upgrading of the polluted souls. They have to see the wrong they did in the pool of bad blood in Hell. This is true at least in the metaphorical sense.

Earth is the transit border between Heaven and Hell where beings go for transit and during the transit, they live a quick life and go through the various phases. If they learn and can make good, they make it but often many cannot make it in every aspect. Life as man is both Heaven and Hell, more so as Earth borders both Heaven and Hell.

Beings in transit as men on Earth are like birds in transit.
They can be lost in transit or be off course

Men in transit on Earth who can make it in some way may still go to Heaven to learn more directly from saints like Amitabha. There is however the possibility that they may not get boarding passes to Heaven, and they may have to go to Hell and then come back to Earth in transit once more.

In life as man, the problems and issues of man are many and plentiful. This too Lord Bo Tien did remind. The ups and downs, the yin and yang are at every turn and corner of life.
These are so that man can learn and be wiser from the learning. But if men fail, they are tossed around by the forces of yin and yang and experience the hell of life as man which comes in two forms - direct hardships or indirect from the ever ebbing away of so-called heavenly or worldly gains.

If they have many successive gains in lifetime of man, then they face the predicament of cliff drop at end of life and that tailspin can be hell of a letdown. Then, they face the abyss of Hell.

The biblical saying is apt to mention. It is more difficult for the rich to go to Heaven. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. This does not mean that the rich and successful will go to Hell but that they face temptations on Earth which will pollute their souls and divine peace of saints will be far from them.

Even Gautama had to leave the wealthy and royal life to be a beggar before he could succeed and be Buddha. Ji Gong did forgo the comforts of the monastery when he was expelled for breaking the rules of monkhood and had to lead beggarly life.

Ji Gong would rather be pure from the heart than put up an outward show. Purity must come from the heart and not dependent on what one does or what goes through one's gut.

Those at the mission of Lord Bo Tien will know better as well. The lord said that the far will be near and the near far. Those in his mission and temple may instead of learning and practising Tao to be atop and to balance the yin and yang go instead for the nectar of blessings for worldly ends will be far though near.

Lord Bo Tien

They may act like ants and insects going to the flower for nectar. This parable was given by Lord Bo Tien. Many in the temple or mission had come and went as though they are in transit but they did not make good their lives in transit as man.

This flaw of these men in mission applies to all men in the world as all men in the world are in the universal temple. The lord saint said that the sky or Heaven is the roof of the universal temple and all under Heaven is in this temple. The religions and sects in the four cardinal directions are the pillars of the temple.

All men in the world are living in transit in the universal temple. While in the temple, they must learn from life, not only their own lives but from the lives of others.

Life is the living gospel. What we fail to learn as yet in past lives be it in Heaven, Earth or Hell, will be duplicated in present lives on Earth for us to learn.

Life is pitifully short so that we can learn but if we choose to day dream and go only for nectar, then when it rains, it is like Heaven shedding tears in pity. This too did the lord saint Lord Bo Tien said.

Remember we are in transit on Earth. Of course we need to take worldly life seriously and not run away thinking the life on Earth is not real or substantive.

We cannot run from reality of life as man. We cannot run away from reality that life here is in transit. We have to reconcile both ends.

We need to be man and yet try to be saint. We cannot try to be saint and forget that we are man after all.

Lord Bo Tien said that the principles of Tao or doctrine if applied correctly and diligently puts us on the road to spirituality and at the worldly level ensures we meet worldly ends and have sufficient worldly blessings for comfortable life as the very platform for more spirituality.

But like it or not, not many can stand on their own and they need the shelter of saints. Lord bo Tien said that life of a man is like a candle flame and if sheltered by the heavenly saints, will glow and grow brighter. The life of a man in transit on Earth will be easier and less eventful.

Life in transit is never meant to be uneventful. We are supposed to learn but not be drowned by the storms that come our way. Every storm or strong wind will not last forever and calm will return again. This Lord Bo Tien said.

Those who are diligent in Tao and faithful enough to put their hearts in God and saints through any religion or sect or even if none will come out of any storm even stronger at least in spirit if not so in body.

Have some thought on how we have fared in this life in transit. It is never too late to make good. If need be, do seek out God and saints for shelter and guidance.

Amitabha too is there for us. Namo Omitofo.
