Lord Bo Tien has said that the ways of men are not the ways of God and saints. How devout men may be, men will be men.
Men would say an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth in the old testament. But saints would never say that but would even say as in the new testament of the bible that we offer the other cheek if slapped on one cheek.
So it is indeed puzzling why men come to blows in the name of Heaven. God and saints go the mile in their love for men even if men fall short of the glory of Heaven.
Wars and terrorist acts in the name of Heaven are far fetched to some but heroic legacy to some others. But how do we expect the many of the modern men to stomach these and hail them as angels of sorts.
But there might be some men in centuries past who were engulfed by the passion of faith and seething with seemingly ill-will in the eyes of others. They did go to war in the name of God. They also condemned others to damnation in Hell if they did not join them in their faith.
They had no qualms in insisting they were right and ever wanted to have their right of way. They thought that only they were civil and divinely inspired.
They might even think that by creating terror in the minds of men, ignorant men would be cowed into submission and belief in their faith. This does border on mental terrorism of sorts.
But if men did not do this, many would still be living in cannibalism, pagan and animal worship. So were such men motivated by ill will? Some may argue to the contrary that they were doing what they did out of goodwill.
Men who used the threat of hell fire might have noble goals but did they go too far to instill fear to put down those who are not in their faith. Are they bigoted in orientation?
The answer is far from clear. It depends on which side we are looking at. But certainly men are not as loving, kind, compassionate and all embracing as Heaven. If they are.or were, then they do not fit here on Earth. What men do are often at odds with Heaven.
God and saints cannot do much but hope that men will wake up, cultivate their mind spiritually and be like God and saints. The reality is that the moment a religion, sect, church or temple flowers, men of wrong intent flock to them like insects and ants to the flower for nectar.
Ants and insects come to flower for nectar |
This the lord saint Lord Bo Tien said to his flock at Bo Tien Temple. He had to content with the flock and move on with the mission to save souls.
Surely even if most men are at odds with Heaven, there will be the occasional rare ones who can be counted and make it. Are you one of them? All of us or rather anyone of us can and should make an effort to be one.
To do so, we must be more discerning, to stand up and to be counted not just once or twice but many times over. Can we muster the courage and tenacity to do so?
If there are no men, there will be no need for God and saints. But if we say so, then we are belittling God and saints and we are in fact at odds with God and saints. We are then at odds with Heaven.
Thus let us be humble and meek and not put on airs. As Jesus said, "The humbled shall be exalted and the exalted humbled." "Judge not lest we be judged."

But Lord Bo Tien adds that men must try to go to the upper source for clear water. Men must make the effort to trace backwards and go for the simple, basic and pure teachings of the prophets and saints.
We will always perceive issues in the light of men and be at odds with Heaven. Men tend to complicate things and add their two cents worth. Then what comes about is some evolved product the original prophet or saint did not intend for us to have.
Men may be at odds with Heaven but Heaven understands and can wait for men to learn. The Mission of Heaven by Lord Bo Tien is just to make them go to the upper source of institutional religions so that they can get clear water of spirituality. There is no need to start a new sect or religion, but just to enable men in whatever religion or sect to go to the upper source for clear water. Omitofo.
