No 1409 of Living Life Series 1
Chinese culture is beautiful, colorful and varied like the Wesak flag.
The beautiful part of Chinese culture is that the Chinese are all accepting and will adopt and even integrate the teachings of all saints of all religions into their life and culture.
But there is one abiding value which must not be compromised - the value of upholding their culture and integrity of family, race and nation.
If others are to tell them that they must be apart from elders and family, apart from race and nation, disown their culture in the name of a new religion or sect, the Chinese will not accept this and feel threatened.
It is as though their family members more so their children are disowning them, disowning the race and culture and at higher level disowning the nation they belonged to.
Some go overboard and evangelise their religions and try to displace converts and set them apart from family, race and national culture.
This will ultimately make them orbit into the foreign culture and possibly even nation. This will be viewed with great distaste and considered uncivilised and trying to break up the cohesion of family, race and nation.
In atheistic nations more so the Communist countries, the prevailing culture is not to believe in any religion. Religions are not given any limelight and sometimes have to go underground. People may end up worshiping in secret.
In secular nations, the state favors no religion and tries to increase the common space of religions. This will then be favorable for that more mutual respect and even belief in one another's religions and culture.
There will be less lines drawn between religions and races. The lines of religions and races will be blurred.
Bo Tien 武 天 says that there is certainly much to learn from one another and as long as we are in flesh and in the here and now, we must uphold the state over religion.
We must uphold the national identity above the racial or ethnic identity. We cannot say that God and saint come first and take the government to task for going against the holy texts of our individual religion.
If this happens, how can the country hold up as one whole. With the lack of yin yang balance and the lack of tight embrace by religions and races of one another, there will be no peace in this world and no inner peace in everyone regardless of religions.
This God and all saints like Bo Tien 武 天 will stress to us. In Chinese culture this is depicted in the Bagua.
A nation regulates religions for God and saints. When a nation fails to do this and there is no peace, the government of that nation has failed its people and the people has failed God and saints for having such a government.
Even a non-secular government is not Godless as it believes in goodness. Goodness is of God. Goodness is the Word and the Word is God.
As long as there is the goal of goodness, the authority of the land may deny God as entity but not goodness which is the essence of God.
An atheistic government too believes in goodness and if it fails to do so effectively there is no peace. Such an authority of a nation regulates religions for goodness which is still God.
Even if there is a state religion, there is belief in goodness. A nation regulates religions for goodness and the nation. This is effectively the same as saying a nation regulates religions for God and for nation.
To God what matters is being good and not worshipping him but be bigots and far from good. Even Bo Tien 武 天 echoes that what matters is not to worship him but to believe and live in the doctrine or truth he stands for.
Do not regard those who do not believe in God as not good. Far from it, it is not good if people believe in God but not in goodness and peace he stands for. Such people are Godless though they believe in God.
Those who do not believe in God but ascribe to goodness God stand for are more Godly or God inclined. As Bo Tien 武 天 puts it bluntly they are far though near and the far may in fact be near.
If you are able to have insight of this, you will understand why the mission of Bo Tien 武 天 is to rekindle the light of the basic or inner truth of goodness that is the same and common to all religions and even those who have no religion.
The mission is to bring out the goodness in all and to further the peace in the world and more importantly the inner peace within the self or individual.
