No 1056 of Living Life Series 1
There is a relationship between God and man. This relationship must be a meaningful one. If it is just to project the ego of Man in God, then it is not as good than if it is to subsume the ego of man in God. But let not God be the ultimate ego of all egos. Then we will create a monstrous ego that is God.
But God is not like that. God like all heavenly saints are not what men made them to be. They are not men and men must know that. Man is man and God is God.
That is what the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 said. He said that the problems of men are many and plentiful and indeed this is the case even with regards to God and men.
This includes of course the relationship between the good lord and I. Well, the moment the word "I" is invoked, it can denote the ego.
But at the same time, being what we are need not be ego-centered. We can be what we are without being egoistic and without denial of what we are. We can be better at what we are and this is what the good lord wants out of us or rather wants us to have.
We may indeed be egoistic and far from the lord but at the same time, it is exactly because we have ego and ego creates problems for us that makes us the center of his interest.
That is why he says that the far may be near and the near far. Far and near make no difference. That is why he is the lord. Whether you are elder or new comer, follower or none at all, he loves one and all.
He feels for us even if we are not good. He wants us to be better at what we are, not in having more ego but in having less or none if possible but yet be ourselves.
We can belong to any religion or even if none. This is immaterial. All the good lord wants in us is for us to be at peace and be happy even without the peace around. We only need to have the peace within. It is just that.
But we tell the lord to grant us this and that. He knows we are not ready for inner peace and he goes along with our wants. That is the lord like the father to us who sometimes even spoil us.
But of course one day he hopes we can rise to be better than that and have inner peace regardless of what we have or don't have. When that day comes, he will rejoice for us.
Thus in a temple of the good lord or for that matter of any heavenly saint, many are those who come for worldly gains and what is wrong with that?
This may be wrong but aren't all men like that at least to begin with and perhaps for the most part of life. Well, to me and pardon me if I sound self-opinionated, the good lord is the world to me.
He blesses me when I am ego-centered and need worldly blessings and he blessed me more if I learn to be less so and be better at what I should be - better at being pure and good regardless of my religious persuasion.
He leaves me to be what I am and wants me to be better than that. He is the world to me. At no point did he want me to fear him. He is not hurt by my transgression. There is no need for guilt. He loves me for what I am and only wants me to be better by the day at my own time and own target.
But God is not like that. God like all heavenly saints are not what men made them to be. They are not men and men must know that. Man is man and God is God.
