No 1055 of Living Life Series 1
Any temple is yet another playground for the ego of man. That is a problem but yet not one. It is exactly that men have egos that contribute to problems in life.
But mind you to be alive is a problem in itself. This does not mean that it is better off dead and gone. Both life and death are problems in themselves.
We must go beyond life and death. This is possible but men must give up the ego and yet do not deny life. They must have the inner peace come what may.
This inner peace is possible through any religion. Religion is about the peace within, never mind if there is peace without.
Men gather together in religion to create the peace of spirit within. This is fellowship. Religions may approach this through different ways but ultimately it is about how to have peace come what may and regardless of belief systems and whether the belief systems bear scrutiny.
But one main root of the problems of men is the ego. Ego seems to drive all their needs so much so that many cannot imagine life can go on in peace without ego.
Having no ego does not mean we are suicidal and dead before dying. It means that we know the nature of life. Ego is the driver of life but it creates problems for the individual himself and others around him.
Instead we should have love for life not just our own but others. All have the right to live and to be happy. Love is the answer. But love cannot boil down to love for ego at others expense. This is the basic teaching of all religions.
The need for inner peace come what may is love centered. This is the basic message of all religions.
The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 descended in 1969 with the mission to awaken all through their respective religions on the need for inner peace. There is absolutely no need at all to give up any religion but only the need to be better at one's own religion by cultivating and focusing on inner peace.
For this, there must be love for life not only our own but for others as well. Then there will be no ego boundaries - no turf guarding or expansion. Then of course there will be boundless peace. This is the inner peace not dependent on peace around but peace that stays come what may.
