Do you find yourself believing what you don't want to believe and not believing in what you want to believe based on logic? If so, you are not alone. This is sometimes a characteristic of the secular world and it has sadly become the characteristic of aspects of religious society.
Man is made to feel condemned and need gift of no condemnation to lift his head high |
It is not peculiar to any religion but a fringe feature of religion not due to religion but due to some men who are more zealous than God and saints to win over the following of more men. It is men who need God and not God who need men.
Men know that life is not a garden of roses. Life has thorns however beautiful it may be. There is always the scourge of pain of birth, disease, old age and death.
But men say that this is not the problem had not men failed God and saints. Some men even blamed their ancestors for failing God and incurring divine displeasure. Why blame God and saints?
Then there are men who think that men have failed themselves by having attachment or clinging to life and they end up condemning themselves for the pain and woes of life - particularly the four ills of birth, disease. old age and death. They end up wallowing that the plight of cycles of rebirths is their own making which is true in a way...
In either views, there is condemnation of men by men and whether divine God and saints are involved in the condemnation of men is immaterial. Men somehow by nature like to condemn and in the same breath, men say that they do not condemn as they bring to mankind the gift of no condemnation through either God and saints or through the Way, Word or Tao depending on the religious culture men is in.
Why are men like that and worse still why must men bring controversy to spirituality. Often they do so in the same breath. They dwell in just the very same breath on both condemnation (as the consequence of lack of insight) and gift of no condemnation (with embrace of insight or faith).
This obviously is not the doing or will of God and saints but the manifestation of the weakness of men. When will men rise above their weakness and do justice to the name of God and saints. When will men sharpen their insight into life.

Lord Bo Tien |
Lord Bo Tien has always said that God and saints are about love for all beings, both the good and not so good. There is no discrimination and no need for fear. The issue of condemnation if any is the talk of men and not ever, by any stretch of imagination, in the thoughts of God and saints.
If it is not at all in the thoughts of God and saints, is there the need for gift of no condemnation? Give this some thought.
No wonder Lord Bo Tien says that all religions are good and have the same basic truth but that the problem lies in men who tend to focus on what they think other men should believe and think. What matters, the good lord says is for us to realise that men are men and God and saints are God and saints.
The ways of men are not the ways of God and saints. Man is indeed man and God is God. That is so and so be it.
If man can indeed break free from stifling mindset of condemnation and gift of non-condemnation, that will be the day when the mission to make men save their souls through their respective religions will see more light of day.
This is the will of Heaven and Lord Bo Tien is but a mere messenger. Even the rare temple in the name of the good lord too must break free from such myopia.
Breaking free is not just a dream but a reality to have and behold. Then man can be set free like the dove and not be caged by the wrong mindset.
