The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Snakes are no devils but men may bedevil snakes

No 568 of Living Life Series 1

Snakes are alive and well.
Blame not the snake
for the devil in men
The snake is not meant to be
a scapegoat for men.

Snakes do not bedevil men
but men may bedevil snakes
Such is the myopia of some men
who proclaim the devil in snakes
as decreed by Almighty God.

They project God and saints as men
And do no justice to God and saints.
They belittle God and saints.
God and saints are not petty and bias
like some men who know not what they do.

Poor souls they are for sure.
They more than others
do deserve more the love
That God and saints can give to all

The meditating Buddha was once protected
by the Naga Snake Mucalinda.
This reflects that the love between animals and men
is not only viable but worthy and wholesome.
The snake is no symbol of devil in Asian culture.

The Buddha in fact loves devils
like he loves all beings.
He is out to save them and make
their lot better for the time to come.
He is no devil just because he loves
to change them for the better.

Religions generally extend love to all beings
including devils for devils more than the others
are the ones who need help most
to be good and not be evil.
Only the myopic think otherwise.

God loves devils for they are the prodigal sons.
If God and saints love even devils,
how much more will they love men
and will they ever condemn them to Hell?

No but they will save them
from the depths of Hell
through the grace of the Word
for the Word is God and saints.

Men must learn to be like God and saints
and extend love to all beings and species.
This is what loving kindness is about.
This is love all round and for all
without exception or malice in the name of love.

The story of Madam White Snake
shows how men can bedevil the snake.
She was punished for love of a man,
no less love with a man
she chose to be her hubby.

The story is a satire of sorts
to show the hypocrisy of some monks
in the days of old in China
as in the world of today
when men at pulpit judge others
Though told not to lest they be judged
or face the law of the land

In modern times of 2014 and beyond,
we hear of human beings in temple
who behave like slippery snakes
and we must be wary of them -
wary of what they do or say.

At the pulpit they proclaim
service to men and to God and saints
as a front to go for own personal gains
though ever behind the scene.
Aren't they snakier than snakes

Temples will attract such men.
It is for their own good
and for the good of others
if they can gain insight
and learn not to be like them.

But snakes may be better than them
as snakes generally are harmless
unless cornered or threatened.
This many will tell us, won't they?

Lord Bo Tien bids us to learn
from the many perspectives of men
but he never say that they are like snakes.
It is not right to malign such men
or even snakes for the matter.

Snakes are no devils
but men may bedevil snakes
and that is no good at all.
It will be worse if we bedevil men.
There will be no gain for sure
and will be inhumane.
