No 1359 of Living Life Series 1
All of us go through the same reality of life. But we always think that we will be distant to what happens to others. Isn't this denial?
In fact, popular religions as made out to be are actually promoting this. We delude ourselves to think we will be saved and we will be protected.
Yes, God and saints do shelter us and guide us but whatever happens, we still go through the same phases of life - from cradle to grave. It is denial that makes us think we will remain evergreen.
Even in a temple or church, when we go there, we seldom socialise with those below or above our age group. We stay with those of our generation and that makes us feel we never grow old.
We feel that the world is at standstill as those with us from decades ago are still with us. We naturally surround ourselves with such people whether in a temple, church or in society. We somehow unconsciously want to feel that we are still evergreen and young.
This is the problem of men, more so men of religion. The problems of men are many and plentiful. This the heavenly spirit Bo Tien 武天 did say.
Religion instead of promoting reality and making us face what is real is actually becoming the vehicle for us to not face reality - doing the exact opposite of what religion is meant to do.
There is the need to correct this and that is why Bo Tien 武天 set out to correct this - to ensure that religion is able to do so and not be made to do otherwise. The mission to do this must go on and on and there is no end to it.
There is the constant need to remind people to face reality and this is what religion should do. But many have taken and will continue to take over religion and do more of the same of what they do outside religion - the very thing that religions set out to correct There is no end to the need to right the wrong in religion.
Religions are meant to right the wrongs in men but when men turn to popular religions, they justify the wrongs they are doing in society by doing more of the same in religion. There are many other aspects or wrongs than mentioned in this post. The fault lies with men and not with God and saints mentioned in religions.
Bo Tien 武天 says that man is man and God is God. To put it in another way man is no God and no saint until he can be like God and saints.
Men must realise that life is the bible they must read and grasp. One wise Chinese commented thus in the internet.
As one ages...
'- After 20 years old, "foreign country" and 'hometown" is the same. (No matter where, one can adapt and feel at home)
- After 30 years old, "night time" and "daytime" is the same. (A few days don't sleep doesn't matter)
- After 40 years old, "highly educated" and "lowly educated" is the same. (Lowly educated persons may even earn more money)
- After 50 years old, "beauty" and "ugly"is the same. (No matter how pretty, at this age, wrinkles, dark spots, etc. are starting to appear.)
- After 60 years old, "high official" and "low official" is the same. (After retirement, their status is the same.)
- After 70 years old, "big house" and "small house" is the same. (Joints degenerate, cannot walk, only require a little space.)
- After 80 year old, "have money"and "no money" is the same. (Even when spend money, also don't spend much)
- After 90 years old, "man" and "woman" is the same. (Because nobody can still do that sort of thing)
- After 100 years old, "lying down" and "waking up" is the same. (After wake up, also don't know what to do)
Your life and my life is like that, not much difference.
Take life easy. After all, having seen life, that's life.'
Perhaps we may add that we do not pretend and think we will be the same but be aware and accept the changes as life unfurls. This is true in life and even more so in religion. Do not go to religion only to deceive ourselves that we will never change.
Religion is meant to make us accept this and cherish changes as they come along. But as said, there is the need to right the wrong, be it in life or in religion. Instead men go to religion to fortify themselves and live as though nothing changes.
We want God and saints to do the unthinkable - that we never change and die. We want eternal life and when we have to face the crunch and this is not possible, we want eternity in afterlife. We think we never change when we do, that we never die when we die.
That becomes our delusion and we want this to be real. We insist that this is for real. We even put words in God's mouth and insist that God and saints promise this.
What God and saints promise is not literal but that we know life better. But we want the easy way and we want God and saints to deliver to us on a platter. We tend to be immature and God and saints do somehow accommodate us. But we must mature and grow up spiritually.
The wise one accepts changes and is at peace. The more ignorant or immature denies this and holds on to dream of eternity not by their own efforts but by what they think is the grace of God and saints. God is indeed graceful to accept our need to be what we are and to be like that. Yes we are indeed like that.
But, we must in the long run not think and be deluded that life never changes and that this is the promise of eternity by God. God and saints will not say that but men like us will.
Why is this so? Well, we have yet to grow up in strength of spirit. We fear change and prefer the status quo.
We even hang around and surround ourselves with people of our age in a temple or church. We may not purposely do so. It comes as second nature.
Even the young in church or temple will only hang around with their peers of same age group. Elderly people only remind them of changes and non-eternity. Elderly people should be out of their sight and life even in a church or temple.
There is the need to right the wrong even in religion. Isn't this true? Now perhaps we will better appreciate why Bo Tien 武天 has a mission to do - to right the wrong even in religions.
There is no need for him to start a new one to do this... This is common sense, isn't it? But common sense sometimes is not so common and a few may decide to have a new religion or temple in his name. It is happening and this is no surprise. The mission of Bo Tien 武天 knows no end.
