No 1335 of Living Life Series 1
Many cannot face the reality in life. Reality can be harsh and far from kind. Many regard this as bulshit and they think that they can do without the shit. They turn to religion.
When religion tells them the same reality is to be expected, they cannot take it. What do they do? They make sure that religion promises them that all will be well. Just believe and that is it. We do not even need to work for it. Isn't that unreal?

They go from the reality of life to the unreality they create in religion. They deceive themselves and think all will be well. This is because they cannot face reality. They even want others to join them in dreamland.
Even saints dangle the dream that just believe and they will be in paradise when the time comes. If the saints do not do so, many will not go to God and saints. Many will not go to religion.
They want to be given and will not work for what they want. Salvation to them is god given and not something we can work for.
If so, then being good is not good. This is not the truth behind religions but religion cannot be so blunt and has to be attractive to beckon more to religion.
Thus the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 has no qualms in saying that truth is hidden in religion. There is the inner truth which people deny if told upfront.
Religion has to present itself as attractive - never mind if this is not being truthful upfront. There will be some who will learn and religion would have served its purpose.
Unreality in religion is necessary for many. Santa Claus is not so real as Jesus. The God of Wealth too is not so real as Buddha or God. But who work more magic and fascination. Of course, Santa or God of Wealth is the obvious answer.
Chinese New Year and Christmas are when dreams will seem so real. Everyone will be happy. At least once a year, they will have plenty and be blessed so that for the year to come and for many years more, they stand a chance to be like that. We all know that life is not like that.
But we do want to live in fairytale world. We want to dream. Fairytales are not real but please don't say they are bulshits - not real. Let us have the excuse to dream and feel pleasant and out of this world if not all the time, then at least some of the time.
In a way, religions or sects offer choice of dreams and paradise fixation but the inner truth behind is still the same, so said the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. Religions and sects are man-made.
Chinese culture is so imaginative and for every aspect of life, there is a saint or deity. This is real to believers but unreal and far fetched to others. Many are based on historical characters. They are real and popular to those steep in culture. They blow up and add on the historical figures to give more pep and fascination - an air of mystique and out of this world fantasy.
The duo guard of Hell Dua Di Ya Pek (大二爷伯) is like Jesus to believers and more popular than Buddha or any other to many. They meet the immediate needs of the many. They are awed by many though may appear awful to non-believers. Do not judge by appearances. The real awful are those who judge and are opinionated.
