The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The same issues at work and at temple

No 834 of Living Life Series 1

The values of goodness at work place are no different from those at a temple. People at different levels, be it at temple or work place follow the same human ways that may not be ideal. Read on to know more.

Those at work seek approval from supervisor by doing good just to please and gain favor from supervisor. The same applies to those at a temple where many quite openly seek the favor of the gods by lacing the palms of the gods with incense gold. Such behavior in society would be frowned at by the human gods. The strange thing is that the gods up there do not consider this as corruption

Well, at human level there must be more prudence, for the human gods, if they can be called gods, are not as tolerant and open. The gods above seem to be able to stomach human indiscretion, be it in form of gold incense papers or love offerings. Do the gods or God need offerings of any form? Do they need a portion of the blessings they gave to men?

Yes, though discreet and prudent, people at work do good with the motive to gain favors from supervisor. They want praise and recognition. Few are those who are more refined and cultivated. Few are they who are so consumed by love of establishment and less of love for self.

Well, the same sadly applies to a temple and worse still in a more open manner and even well tolerated as the norm and good to do for one and all. The gods above don't seem to mind at all and are not offended. Well, that at least is what many think. They seem to go along and feel sorry for these poor souls ever wanting more than more. The gods go along with them, otherwise such men will just be out there and be even more lost.
But the sadder part is that many go to a temple more to attract attention and gains from the scarce few human gods in society who often patronize the temple. They go for the human gods more than the gods up there, though they present the front of going there for the gods above.

Such deceitfulness is easily noticed by discerning men but yet not frowned by the gods above who are more than loving and willing to please the ignorant and erring chaps, hoping that one they they will outgrow their folly by staying on long enough in the fold of the temple domain.

It is the divine belief that they be given more ropes and laxity. One day, a few will outgrow their ways and become so selfless as to be like saints doing good without expectations of personal gains or what are in store for them if they are to do good.
At any temple of the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨), there is no giving before you will be given. There is no need to burn gold incense paper offerings or donate any love offering to God and saints before they will bless you. Elder Ling saw to it that there is no incense paper offerings and if he has his way, there will be no urn or incense of any sorts.

But some and often many may hold that it is not wrong to have such offerings at other temples where the lower servants of God and saints may appreciate what you give to the gods or saints. These servants of the gods need them but not the gods.

Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) is aware of human nature of men wanting to lace the palms of the gods so as to have more good from the gods. The good lord is aware that many do good at a temple such as doing and being involved in charitable works so that they can gain favors not just from the gods but from the human gods among men in society where that temple is part of.
Mind you, the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) even assures that such men will still reap some good in return for doing good but it is better for such men to be doing good for the love of men and for the passion for good rather than for their own good.

Like it or not, it is still far better to do some good expecting returns than not to do any good at all. Well, this however is no excuse for covert intentions which may end up more harmful than good.

How we aspire to be good depend on principles of how good we can be. There is the starting point of doing good outright for one's own good to the doing good for goodness sake. The same that applies to spiritual success if applied to mundane world brings success to place of work.

This was pointed out to us by all saints and the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) is no exception. He says that the values that bring spiritual progress too can bring worldly success.

The same wide range of values of goodness that exists at a temple are present at the work place. Doesn't that make the work place as good a place as a temple for us to learn about goodness and about life? It is a place for us to move upwards in the ladder of goodness and life - 步步高升.
步步高升
The work place is a temple of sorts. But according to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨), in fact the whole world is the universal temple with the sky or heaven as the roof.
