The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Amitabha is indeed awesome

No 591 of Living Life Series 1

There is the reassurance by Amitabha for all beings that those who call out his name Amitabha or Omitofo will benefit from his vow to ferry all to his Pure Land not just in after life but in the here and now.

It is not that they can attain enlightenment just by calling out his name but that they will be blessed to have more peaceful life and experience the joy of guidance and fellowship the moment beings call out his name.

Then we can focus at our own pace the cultivation of goodness that gives more peace and lead us to eventual enlightenment. But the beauty of the peace that is the here and now and not the agony wait for the day we be enlightened.

Saints like Kuanyin and Ji Gong will come with no strings attached. We do not even need to worship them or believe in their divine nature but all we need is to accept their help without conditions attached.

There is no mention of the need to submit or believe before help is extended. We can belong to any religion or even if none.

Without such unconditional offer of help, many would fall on the way side. Many would be mired by what they are bogged down with at this moment in life to think beyond the moment.

To worship Amitabha and the saints and to fear them is of no additional use to us or to Amitabha and the saints. That would only add more to the host of things we need to fear and to grapple with. That would increase and add to the many problems we have in life.

Have no fear and have no guilt. Liberate and free our spirits as far as we can. The solution to the problems of life cannot be the creation of more fears, clinging and problems to solve problems.

We cannot be chained to the saints before they will look into the matter of how we can be unchained from the fetters and issues of life. That they can offer help without pre-conditions is evidence of true love for beings with no strings attached.

This sets the stage for us to understand how to have unfettered love for life - our own and that of others as well. We must love ourselves and others as well in balanced way.

How can we have one without the other? How can we love those in our own group without loving those in other groups in like manner? That would be unloving to others and selfish towards our own kind. That would be not true loving kindness

For this true love to materialise, men must not be divided by man-made barriers like religions, sects, temples and churches. But such labels are still reality just like races and languages are realities but we can still achieve barrier free brotherhood among men all over the world.

No name calling and no class distinction please even when labels exist to divide men.

Amitabha and the saints set the way by helping all who need help. They the sentient beings do not need even to believe and worship them. Isn't that wonderful and awesome?

Namo Amitabha. Omitofo
