Why is Amitabha and a saint like him for the many? This is so even for those who do not worship the saint as well as those who do not believe in who the saint is?
This question we may often ask time and time again. The answer is obvious.
Amitabha surveys the world for those who need help |
A saint offers help to those who want help regardless if they worship him as lord. He knows too well that beings with problems and issues are already harassed by life and not at ease and peace. They are not at all in right frame of mind and have no time and mood for doctrine, the intricacies and complexities of faiths.
Why must some men attach conditions to be met before they say their saint or prophet will meet the needs and problems of men? Isn't this somewhat disheartening and disconcerting when men are already beset by the ills and stress of life? Why must there be barriers before help be given?
Isn't this bargaining by men with men in the name of God and saints? Isn't this unbecoming of men of faith to portray their God and saint as though they are petty? Only those who already have but want more and are greedy for more will be drawn to bargains.
Moreover, who wants attention and who needs attention? Is it God and heavenly saints or is it men? Of course, the answer is obvious. Men do but not God and saints. Please for goodness sake or rather for Godsake, wake up and know that God and saints are not like that and not like men?
We do not need to belong to a religion or profess to have one before God and saints will help and bless us? We do not even need to believe they are there or who they are before they will help us.
They never say, "Know who I am and that I am God or of God, otherwise no blessing you will have. Worse still you may go to Hell."
Will men be cowed by threats issued in name of God and saints by none other than some men in the very house of God? |
Only some men with need for acclaim and returns from men would say that God and heavenly saints above would say so and do as such. They proffered help supposedly by God and saints with strings attached. They are the very ones who need to be serviced, showered attention and be idolised by men in all conceivable ways. They are the ones who need help though they insist they are helping other men.
They would often cleverly package their conscious or subconscious psychological need for help as though they do not need help and are so blessed. They put it as the reverse. They say others need help and they are helping these other men. Their need to be serviced and idolised by men is disguised as their love deeds for men. God and saints will never do that. They are not men. Men may do so but not and never God and saints.
A temple with welfare home even for non believers |
That is why churches and temples set up welfare homes and help the destitutes without even proselytizing their faiths. That is why all who do not believe in what they believe too are their friends but hopefully and thankfully not second class friends.
The latter if it does ever happen is unacceptable and will perhaps be unbecoming of followers of God and saints. That would be belittling God and saints that they hold high in esteem and treasure dearly in their hearts. That would be blasphemy though of insidious kind.
Alas, men who stoop so low are certainly poor souls. They need help by God and saints more so than those they reach out to help.
They are the ones who more than anybody else need to be in the house of God, never mind if they come to service their own needs and are like insects coming to a flower for nectar of personal needs, rather than to service others in the name of God.
God must help them for they know not what they do or even if they do know what they do but still want to be like that.

Lord Bo Tien did say that we blame not the flower for insects coming to the flower for nectar. He added that the problems and issues of men are many and plentiful. Inner truth netizen adds that men tend to create more problems even before they can solve problems and not just by solving problems.
Lord Bo Tien |
Amitabha is a shining example of what saints and men should be. Whether we believe in him or worship him is not the issue. Whether he can prove his existence to you is not the issue. Who he is too is not the issue.
The issue is that he will go to men and beings who need help. It is as simple as that. There is no need for religion as an institution for a saint to do that though religions have been great service to men.
Men may need religion as institution but not God, saints and many of those who try hard to be saints and yet to be saints.
Men of religion may sully the name of a saint but a saint Lord Bo Tien says is ever like the great ocean and no amount of mud and folly of men will affect the saint who is like the great ocean.
Men must not see the man in God and saint and God and saint in man. Know who is man and who is God or saint. This too did Lord Bo Tien say.
If a practice is wrong in a temple or religion and is detrimental, there is need for remedy, but if it is already too late to do so, then be prepared to remove the practice and distance away the people who stubbornly hold on to it, so that others could carry on wholesome cultivation of spiritual.
This is like the diseased branch of a tree. There may be need to chop it off for the tree to thrive. At times, this is the only way to save the tree. This parable too Lord Bo Tien did say.
Men have to distance away from the wrong practices, attitudes and beliefs with regards to saints and prophets. It is not that the saints and prophets are not true saints but the way men practise religion with regards to them may be detrimental and may cause bad blood, bad name and ill health to religion.
Men should give up the idea that before a saint like Amitabha helps and blesses us, we must first know him and worship him as lord. An alpha leader dog in a dog pack may do so but not men and not God and saints.
Some men stoop so low that even dogs may be better than them. Alas however we should hold our tongues. Judge not lest we be judged. Didn't the great lord Jesus said so in the Holy Bible.
Lest we forget, even Gautama Buddha in his last life as man surveyed the world during his meditation for beings who need his help and not wait for men to come to him. This is the way saints do which men of spiritual substance must emulate.
But there are myriad beings who need help and even Buddha could only reach some and not all. Other saints must chip in to help and this for sure is an endless mission. It would be inconceivable for a saint to say that he would withhold help and blessings unless they know him, idolise and worship him. Only men portray saints as such.
But however compassionate a saint may be, he cannot help all. Affinity is the catch word. If there is affinity of a man with a saint, the likelihood of blessing will be more assured. This was explained by Ji Gong the Living Buddha.
