Lord Bo Tien had said that those who are near to God and saints may be far and those far may be near.
Why must the good lord say this in one of the last annual messages he gave in the first phase of 13 years of the mission? (The first phase of 13 years began from mid 1969)
Lord Bo Tien |
Why is it that even the most devoted men of God and saints may be far though near to God and saints?
When there is devotion, there is attachment or clinging. When there is pride in what they profess, there is clinging that results in disdain and vile distaste of views that differ from their beliefs.
This means there is dislike, and with dislike, there is ill-will and even anger for others not having same views. Such ill-will or anger is inconsistent and not in tune with the loving and peaceful way of God and saints.
The situation is made worse when the ardent believers of God and saints pronounce that men who do not do as they do, think as they do and act as they do are damned and very much in for the wrath of God and saints.
They say God is a wrathful and jealous God. Well, men may be wrathful and intolerant but certainly not God and saints. Well, certainly bigoted are such odd ardent of believers and what they project in God and saints are actually the projected image of what they themselves are.
They are obviously way far from being at peace with themselves and their religious beliefs. They are still very much far from divine. They are the ones who are jealous though obviously zealous in their odd religious ways.
They love God and saints and there is no doubt of that. But such love is narrow minded, warped and gives rise to enmity and hatred for those who do not see eye to eye with them. They love themselves more than anything else and that has made them proclaim that God and saints are jealous and wrathful.
They may say that God says that men must not worship or have eyes for any image beside God. The odd part is that they see the image of themselves in God and saints. They project themselves and their pride and egos in God and saints. They worship their own egos in God and saints. They worship their own images and shadows.
They are not humble. They are not meek like sheep but are intrusive, threatening like wild wolves roaming in packs. They scream and howl in the supposedly house of God like the wolves in the eerie hours of darkness of the night in the wild. They create fear and force submission for those who are not with them. How far can they go?
But the strange part is that the men whom the good lord Lord Bo Tien told in depth about the far and near may at times themselves be far though near.
They may believe in love yet act as though they may have not a shred of love for one another, that is may not have love for those who may not see eye to eye with them. But yet they may belong to the same mission, same saint and same temple. They are supposed to be brethren, aren't they?
They may end up in blows and live up to the old testament proverb, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." They somehow could not stand the sight and noise of those who are not in tune with them and rather these men whom they dislike be damned and expelled.
They cannot live and let live so as to have peace with the yin and yang that they collectively are supposed to be, being in the same one temple or mission of the lord. Yin and yang cannot do battle but must live and let live, like in the yin yang Taiji sphere below. They must somehow or other have to revolve and move as one whole despite obviously being different.
Those who can balance and be atop yin and yang like depicted by the feet of Lord Bo Tien on the elements is at peace and divine. But even if they have yet to master this, at least they should try to and be on the path of peace and sainthood. Lord Bo Tien dealt with the yin and the yang in his closing message and also through his medium the late P. Philip.

Men who think they are right and others are wrong must learn to live and respect the differing views of others. Only then will they be whole and complete in religious approach, be it in a temple of the good lord Lord Bo Tien or be it in any temple or religion.
There must be the wholeness of yin and yang which though different must roll and revolve as one, like the Taiji of the Ba gua. That is why there are religions and there are sects and schools within a religion.
All religions must roll as one in God. All sects must be one in a religion though different they may be. Not true that only one is right and others wrong.
God provides choices and choices are good. That is how more can be reached. That is how to save more souls. If some bigoted men think that their only one way is right and others wrong, how far can they go?
Didn't they ever hear of the proverb "One man's meat is another man's poison." God and saints know but obviously some men have yet to know.
Incidentally, the converse is also true. A saint must help not only those who believe in and pledge allegiance to him but also those who do not.
A heavenly saint just like God is whole and perfect. He does not choose and discriminate. He is conversant in living by the Ba gua way which ancient China refer to as Tao. He helps and blesses all whichever yin or yang inclination they may have. Whether they pledge allegiance to him or not matters not. What matters is that they need help and blessings.
Amitabha is one such saint. He helps all even those who do not worship him. After all, why should Buddha Amitabha or for that matter God need to be worshiped or ever want people to worship him as though he is an emperor of earth in bygone days. Men may badly want others to worship or idolise them, more specifically idol worship them but not God and saints.
Amitabha Buddha Just call on his name and he will come to you to help and bless. No need to know him No need to believe in him or worship him No need to belong to any religion or sect. Omitofo |
