Let us not forget that it is in the fifth lunar month 1207 that the Great Ji Gong passed on to be among men as the Living Buddha. That is why he is the Living Buddha for he is with men rather than in Heaven. He is more like men and yet a Buddha. He drinks and eats meat but is pure at heart. He comes to the aid of men who need help and blessings. He is like one of us and is with us. He is no doubt a Buddha as well. Such indeed is the blessed one who is none other than Ji Gong or Lord Ji.
He has become the epitome of life for men. We can be like all other men in what they do but yet we can be so different at heart like the Buddha. Ji Gong is like that and we should be like him. He shuns high seat and status preferring the floor when talking to men who may be seated or standing around him.
We may be far from the likes of a Buddha and do what most other men do. But we can be near to The Buddha and heavenly saints at heart. The far may be near and the near far. Lord Bo Tien said this.
This draws us to what Jesus said that the exalted will be humbled and the humble will be exalted. Jesus was humbled during his time in flesh as man but history exalted him. He was much derided by the synagogues and the law of the land. But history made him out to be the lord of the world of men today in 2014 and beyond.
We may be poor or even the most beggarly, the most common, vulgar and uncouth among men as seen by the very eyes of men who only look at the sky. We may be far from wealth and status compared to the handful who are blessed in worldly trappings.
But if we are happy with less and others are unhappy with more and want even more, then we are many notches above them in the eyes of God and heavenly saints. God and heavenly saints will look down on us with love, never mind if other men may look down on us for being poor. Though poor we may still be rich if we are happy with less.
Gotama has this to say as the Lord Buddha. Contentment is the greatest wealth. Self-confidence is the greatest friend. Worry not if others are better off. Envy not as such. Envy makes us our own enemy as envy robs us of joy, peace and satisfaction in life. Even if we have more, envy makes us feel we have less despite already having more.
As the Chinese saying goes, "Money in bank, Man in Heaven." Which matters most to the man who is in heaven be it heaven on earth or heaven above in after life? Is it the money or his happiness and peace of heart? No amount of money stashed away in the bank can assure one the happiness and peace at heart.
Looking at Ji Gong as such, he exudes peace and happiness. He exudes endless blessings. He is rich in what matters and that is in matters of the heart. He has the richness and purity of the heart though he is garbed in rags and empty in pocket in worldly sense. He is rich though poor and this is due to his belief in having heart for life.

He says that what matters is the heart and not what passes through the gut or what one does. He has plenty to give with his heart though he had then as man little and almost nothing in his name. He was obviously very very different indeed. He is Ji Gong after all.
Let us celebrate life in that life greatest blessings is in the heart and not in what man has around him. It is the heart that counts and not what is in the bank. Buddha is in the heart and not in the temple. Where there is the heart, there is the Buddha. There is God. There is the heavenly saint that we look up to.
Where the heart is warm and pure, there is Buddha or God. There is Ji Gong. Let us celebrate life and have heart for the simplicity of life that is valueless or rather invaluable and for which money cannot buy as it is beyond money. All the money stashed away in the bank cannot buy this.
Ji Gong blesses us with more that money cannot buy or provide. Often where there is money, there is still more wants and the heart is still aching for more. The heart is sort of empty and devoid of warmth and joy that matters. Despite being awashed with money, something is missing and it has to do with the heart.
Money cannot assure happiness but happiness can make money work better however little or finite it may be. That is the power of the heart without which how can there be the celebration of life. Ji Gong is the focus of the celebration of life because he is all heart. He is rich in the heart.
He may appear poor like a beggar but he is the God of Wealth as well, more so in places like Taiwan. There is the need to celebrate the wealth of life that comes from the heart, more so a heart that is pure. He can do what God and all saints can do because he has the heart.
That is why he is deified as a Taoistic deity by Taoism and a Buddha no less by Buddhists though he was initially an outcast of a Zen monastery for failing to keep to the Vinaya rules of Buddhists monks. He succeeded and made it beyond where monks who kept the rules could achieve.
He was a miracle in his time as man and continues to be one all because of the heart. He has a big heart for the good of the many and for the welfare of one and all - even for those who have erred and done wrong. That is him. Let there be celebration of life in Ji Gong. Omitofo always and ever more.
Every sentence or more that comes from his mouth is frank, earnest and direct. He is ever keen to help as well as keen to change the one he is helping for the better. He never pull any stop to better the man even if what he says is just too frank.
But then he is still kind and soothing because he has the heart. He upkeeps the vows of Omitofo to help all sentient beings and that is why he punctuates what he has to say ever so often with exclamation of OMITOFO. It would not be surprising that Amitabha or Omitofo is behind him, so is God Almighty the Pure August Jade Emperor.
He knows that affinity is a limitation to his outreach with beings but this does not pose an issue to him. He has the heart to reach out and to make things happen because he has the heart. He is all heart.
Isn't this cause enough for celebration of life in Ji Gong? Ji Gong ... Ji Gong ... be with us...Omitofo

Ji Gong walks the way with his heart of gold. Ji Gong please be with us so that we can be what we are and be ordinary men but yet walk in the Way and be like you. One day hopefully we will be like you - extraordinary yet ordinary.
We can then celebrate life in you by being true to Tao at heart and many of us do not need even to know the lot or be in monastery to do this. It is strange though that many who are in monastic life cannot walk the way like you do. They cannot walk the talk.
They somehow cannot make it though they know allot, talked allot and held themselves high and noble. They proclaim how good they are at know-how and at adherence to rules and norms but they cannot match their claims with the heart.
They simply cannot make it because they cannot commit their heart. How then can they walk the talk? There is little in life they lead that is worthy of celebration even if there is much they do that they can talk about.
Ji Gong is all heart and not a trace of empty talk. Many of us are different. We end up with more talk, small talk, sweet talk and less heart even if when we talk big. Empty vessel can make more noise and all will know that.

Ji Gong walks the Way be it termed Tao, Middle Way or God's Way. He talks and acts from the heart. Men should be like him and not be given to empty talk, small talk, sweet talk and talking big.
Do talk from the heart like Ji Gong and be blessing to self and others as well. What matters is not what goes through the gut or what one does but what goes through the heart. This is the guiding principle Lord Ji wants to share with us.
Ji Gong is the guiding light of what men should be. Be themselves but be true to life by having heart for life. Do not act and be given to pretension but have heart and be true to heart in thoughts, speech and in deeds.
Isn't this the core or basic teaching of Gautama Buddha? Lord Bo Tien refers to this as the inner truth that is in all religions and in all right minded men with or without religion.
This is indeed cause for celebration of life as there is the universal presence of divinity in all beings and in all religions of beings like men. Let there be the celebration of life through our knowing life through Ji Gong The Living Buddha.
Well to be honest and true to heart, he is not just the living buddha of Buddhists but the icon of divinity for men of all religions. He is a saint for all religions and even for those outside religions. He is just Ji Gong. He is a man for men. He is a being for all beings. He is all heart and welcome by all.
