The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

More hands make light work of a mission

No 420 of Living Life Series 1

More hands make light work. No one will question the truth of this advice. This is more so in a mission or temple.

While it may be a human weakness and tendency for a clique of a few to control a temple, it is likely that this clique is only good at certain aspects of work in a temple. They may be good only at organising a few celebrations and upkeeping the momentum of social work or charity. Even for such few activities, they need the participation of others who may have alternative and differing views. This is so that there will be better checks and balance.

Checks and balance are even that more important in administration of a temple. Without checks and balance, caution may be thrown to the wind and a temple may run foul of the law of the land. Worse still we must not forget that men may in addition mess up the law of heaven.

Lord Bo Tien is all for more people to come together, never mind if they may not see eye to eye with one another. Men may disagree but it is good that they differ and have doubts. Men have different strengths but if they can work as one, they complement one another, like yin and yang.

They can learn from one another's  plus and minus points. Doubts may be upsetting in the beginning but if over time, men can work through their doubts, they will gain more and better insight and their relationship will grow stronger by the day.

Doubts may be doubts of fellow men or of God and saints. It is not wrong to have doubts. A doubt arises because there is need to know. It is like digging the ground. Effort and hardship are involved but the reward is the refreshing clear ground spring water of knowledge and understanding. This Lord Bo Tien said.

Thus while more hands may mean more misunderstanding and more relationship problems in the beginning, in time with doubts being ironed out, more hands would be better. More hands make light work of the mission of a temple. There should be more hands on the deck.

More hands on the deck make light work of a mission. There should be no monopoly or turf guarding by any clique. Cooperation and consensus do not men others must kowtow or simply submit to the dominating and domineering few.

Alas, the problem with men in mainstream is that they cling and want to control, more so when a concrete temple premise is built for a temple or mission. The lord saint Lord Bo Tien stressed that it is the people that make up the temple and not the concrete building.

Managing the people of differing peculiarities, tastes and views as one is more important than managing a concrete building. This applies to any temple or church.

It is the people and not the building
that make up a temple or mission

Lord Bo Tien wants to see
not just people in same color
and voice in worship but
their hearts must beat in tandem

though they may be individuals
distinct from one another
and of various persuasions
