No 1042 of Living Life Series 1
In times of old
during the time
of the saint
when the saint is in flesh
there is no celebration
of the birth or descent of the saint;
lest this be seen
as challenge and rivalry
to the king or government of the land.
The saint had renounced
all the fame and name
Why then celebrate even today
as though the saint is ruler of the land?
Why hold a worldly celebration
for a heavenly occasion?
Good though for quiet day
away from the crowd
and the ungainly ways of men.
Do commemorate the day
befitting the spirituality
and the sobriety of the day -
a serious and holy day indeed
and not be given to pomp and gaiety
as there is no reason to fool around.
No excuse for sensual indulgence
and excess of any sorts and form.
That dear friends we must not do.
Gather instead in serious reflection
why he came and what he lived for.
That's what we should do
nothing else and nothing more.
This applies too in all religions
to all heavenly saints as well.
Lord Bo Tien is included
as he did say time and again
No need at all to show his shine
Never was he or is he here
to display his saintly majesty
only the need for inner peace
common to and behind
all the religions of the day.
So why on good mother Earth
have noise, pomp and gaiety
for his day of days
to make the world know him.
Better to show why he is here
What is his mission and message
nothing more and nothing less
This should be the case
not just today or tomorrow
but for all the days
Inner peace matters more -
more so on his day of days
yes nothing less and nothing more
