The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Dawn of a new era for spiritual leadership

 - a return to the old way of servant leader

No 247 of Living Life Series 1

Good leaders of spiritual organisations are usually adept at moving their congregation but this may at times lead to idolatry by the congregation and the idolised monk, priest or pastor may well end up being put on the pedestal.

One possible result is that there will be abundance of trust and lack of checks and balance. This may lead to less ideal governance and often fingers may be pointed at the monk, priest or pastor from dissidents. But the weakness, if any, cannot be seen to lie just with the leader but with the congregation as well. After all, charismatic or charming personalities are required to move the congregation but fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how we look at it, this can be either a boon or a bane or perhaps even both boon and bane.

Misuse of funds and lack of transparency, lack of checks and balance are at times unavoidable and even tolerated somewhat by the congregation much to the discomfort of the government of the day. Secular government would be hard pressed to do something and yet they do not want to be in the thick and thin of matters. The government would be caught in a double bind of sorts. This is regrettably and understandably so. The problem lies not in the leader alone or in the congregation or in the internal governance of the religious organisation but perhaps even deeper - possibly  in the system that sustains religion in society.

But having said that isn't it true that religion sets out to correct the ills of society but the same very ills of society do rear their ugly head in any religious institution. This, however, is a paradox for which the founding fathers of world religions were aware.  They thus did not appoint successors but at the same time, religions do need to continue as social institutions and institutions need leadership and succession. Such is the paradoxical reality and this does present as a problematic issue for religions from time to time.

So could religions have gone astray somewhat? To be correct, most religious organisations have done well, stayed in the proper mainstream and have steered clear of attracting the wrong limelight. But a few have fallen on the wayside. To minimise this or rather to prevent this, there is need to herald the dawn of a new era to ensure that leaders are not considered as perfect and infallible. Men should not worship man but only God and saints.

Man who leads men in religion should be servant of men and not  the leader of men. He should meet the needs of men in his congregation. Being servant of men, he should answer to a management body or board and not be part of that body or worst still be the chair person or director. He should not be part of the governance but be subjected to governance.

A good spiritual leader stays in the background and moves others to come out to serve the needs of the congregation say by their being in the governance board or sub-committees. He is like a candle flame to light up the candle flames of those in the congregation. This was referred to by Lord Bo Tien but this is however not one of the main perspectives of the candle light doctrine.

Even for  the usual sermons for the congregation of his spiritual organisation, the servant of men should not be the only speaker but only one of the many. In fact, he should in time hardly speak at the weekly sermons and leave it to the others in the congregation. If he has served the congregation well and is a good servant of  God and congregation, there is no need for him to be in the fore but only to be the backbone and servant of the congregation. (This is in concordance with the point by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu that the best leaders are those who walk beside their people and whose existence are not noticed. Lao Tzu is an avatar* or incarnate of one of the three Pure Ones)

Lord Bo Tien

Thus in the same vein, there is strictly speaking no need for spiritual leader in the Mission for the Inner Truth inspired by Lord Bo Tien but  we need only a good servant to serve men in the mission so that they, the men, will spread the word of God through whatever  religions or sects they may be in or even if they belong to none. Call this servant a leader and you run the risk of making a devil and a cult figure out of him.  You run the risk of inevitably making the congregation worship him (a man) instead of worshipping God and heavenly saints.

The concept of servant leader is inherent in various ways in all religions and accorded special mention by Lord Jesus. This has always been the emphasis since the inception of religions but we need to refocus on this. Let this refocus on servant leader be the dawn of a new era for renewal or for refreshing the mode of spiritual leadership based on the wisdom of the founding fathers. Better still, we should omit the term "leader" and just use the honorific of "servant of God, saints and men"

Man is fallible but God and saints are not. Man can be a good spiritual servant but not a worthwhile infallible spiritual leader. Man should never deputise and act for God. He can serve God and fellow men. God and the doctrine of truth should be the leader. This way man will be less likely to tarnish the image of God and saints. God bless.

Incidentally, the clear demarcation of administrative body and spiritual body in a spiritual organisation will go some way to ensure  that abuses and setbacks are less likely to occur. The balance of the two polarities or instruments of management of a religious organisation will steer the organisation in the right direction. This is as depicted by the balance of yin and yang of the pakua. The pakua has always been given prominence on the shrine floor in front of the altar of Bo Tien Temple for this very good reason.

 the Chinese pakua

The dire need for balance of administrative body and spiritual body in a spiritual organisation is also as reflected by the seated image of Lord Bo Tien with both feet atop and balancing the elements. Additionally, the left hand in salutation bids the organisation to maintain the course and be steady. The right hand holding the holy sceptre reminds the organisation to hold on to  the word or doctrine of God and to hold fast to the twin loyalties.

"The image is the doctrine and the doctrine is in the image"

There are the two loyalties or dedications - dedication to the state the organisation is in and the other is dedication to God. There must be the correct balance of these two and this is also symbolised by the pakua.

"Give to the state what is due to the state and to God what is due to God"  This statement is often quoted by followers of  Jesus and is the principle of the Tao as well.

In Buddhism, this perspective is to be found in the "Middle" Way ('middle' does not mean mid point or average though but for want of a better word in translation the word 'middle' is used).

In simple language, the twin loyalties can be surmised thus. "Obey the laws of God and obey also the laws of the land." This is the advice of Lord Bo Tien.

Thus it is  right that there is division of management in a religious organisation - the administrative body and the spiritual body. The monk, pastor, priest or lay clergy hails from the spiritual body but keeps clear of administrative body and authority. He is just a spiritual servant and has to be subservient to and beholden to the organisation and the state. He cannot hold on to instruments of authority and management.

The pastor or priest  is only the effector of the spiritual body which sits to give him feedback and  moderate policy on spiritual matters. This will go long way to  cut down hero worshipping of sorts but yet give due importance to his standing as priest or pastor as well as preserve and sanctify his servant leader role. Remember that as servant leader,  he facilitates others to be the speakers of sermons and he takes on sermons only occasionally.

This servant of men emphasis will naturally herald the dawn of new era for spiritual leadership that brings back and thrusts the ancient wisdom of the founding fathers of religions to the fore. The approach will go some way to ensure that the ills of societal decadence for which religions set forth to eradicate will not creep back into the fold of the societal institution of religion.

But the solemn reality remains true that religions are only means to the end but not the end itself. Perfection in religion will always be an ideal just round the corner. This means there must be more of new sects and schools of thoughts to reach out to all and to plug the imperfections of the existing ones, only to create new ones. This is in line with the Inner Truth doctrine explained to us by Lord Bo Tien before 1974. Let this be food for further thought.....

*Avatar refers to a deliberate descent of a deity from heaven to earth, or a descent of the Supreme Being and is mostly translated loosely into English as "incarnation." Supreme being or deity do not need to incarnate to progress spiritually hence the word avartar instead of incarnate

Neither crave or rave nor stave off life

No 246 of Living Life Series 1

There is one view point of life which many must consider from time to time. How do we relate to others? Do we go all the way to please others or do we stay away and be aloof?  The wise would just flow along but not be swept by the tide and be tossed around.

Talk only if needed. Avoid frivolity and gossip that will sow discord and that may be exciting somewhat for the present but will reflect adversely on us with time. Just let others talk and show interest where appropriate. People prefer to talk than to be talked to.

Often, people prefer to engage you than for you to engage them. They want good listeners and others as vent points and not you make vent points out of them. Others often want good listeners in you and want you to be receptive and not the other way round. Let this be food for thought.

Do you listen or expect others to listen? Who is likely to give himself away the listener or the talker? Perhaps you should strike the balance by being better at listening than talking. That way there will be more accord than discord with others.

A good leader, therapist or society man  listens to others more than he expects others to listen to him. But he cannot be dumb or others will find him dull and boring company. He cannot talk more than listen or others may find him an irritant and noisy, a noise pollutant of sorts. This is the balanced approach as depicted by the seated image of Lord Bo Tien with both feet atop the elements.  The point of balance does not need to be the middle point though.

We do need to engage prudently with others and with society and that will make us grow as individuals. But we need to do so correctly.  Don't try to be needy and often that will put others on guard as to your intentions. Make others need us more than we need them.

In any aspect of life, there is of course
the balance point for optimal effect
but this need not be the average or middle point
as depicted in seated image of the lord saint.
Often, for equilibrium and peace
this is not a fixed point
but a shifting point

After all, we must be asset to others in order for others to want to be with us. Often, we will then be pleasant company to others. This may seem discomforting but don't forget that the best asset is to be an asset to own self before one can be asset and be welcome by others.

Don't appear too needy and for the businessman, this is very true as often, he may end up losing a deal. But if the businessman's clientele needs him more than he needs them, then more deals will be forthcoming and come to him.

The same applies to friendship. Make others want you more and more friends you will have. Focus on the interests of others and that will make others open up with you. Do not rattle way with your own interests or worst still with your problems. That will put off others who may find you too emotional and they will not want to be taken on a emotional roller coaster ride with your personal issues.

Be a candle to light up and attract others to you. Be a beacon of  truth of life to others. This is what Lord Bo Tien said. You must somehow light up their lives and they will come round you.

In short, don't be needy. Make it the other way round. Others must  need us more. But do not crave and expect too much. Go easy and be at peace with what you can have when relating with others.

Look at the pluses in any aspect of your life, be it work, friendship etc, and there will be cheer. Look at the minus points, and the plus points seem to be not there. Then misery you will end up with, even if your life is nine pluses out of ten. Do feel good and be at peace.

Let God and saints enable your life. Your life is like a lemon tree. You can have lemon but you must be at peace so that you can have water and sugar from God to have the lemonade of life. Do  not crave for the pluses you are yet to have. Be at peace and trust your life to God and be thankful for the many pluses you already have. But rave not over the pluses though but treasure them in quiet and calm way.

The greatest plus is the chance to learn, to make good and to move on in life. Crave and rave are best be kept at bay if we have our way.  We must move on, to feel life and the joy of just living and be at peace come what may. Don't crave or rave but do not stop moving in life. That will be to stave off life and to stop living even when still alive.

Neither crave or rave nor stave off life. Then optimal balance you will have and peace you will have ever more when you are attuned to God and saints by neither fighting with life nor leaving life but ever at ease with life. God bless.

Crave --- to have an intense desire for
Rave  --- to talk wildly, as in delirium.
               to talk with extravagant enthusiasm
Stave off - to put off or to keep off, as by force or evasion

The Grand Canyon of Life

No 245 of Living Life Series 1 (Photographs courtesy of SBP 21st Feb 2011)

Heaven on earth or earth in Heaven, the two are the same in essence. What matters most is to see the better side of life, be it our individual life or the world at large. There is magnificence if we have the correct perspective and the Grand Canyon is a piece of nature par excellence and beyond the creative ability and imagination of man. Only nature can do it and we have always marvelled at nature and its wondrous manifestations that reveal to us the Godliness in life around us if we care to see the wonders of God despite the polar contingencies of yin and yang in existence within the fabric of life and mother nature. Mother nature is the flip side of Divinity in our human world. God is within the world and the world is within God. The beauty that we know of nature like the Grand Canyon is but a minuscule part of the beauty of God and is therefore far from ideal with yin and yang attributes. But it is enough to evoke awe and stir up the imagination of man in God and the heavens.

When we become absorbed in the wonders of nature's creation, we cannot stop thinking of the wonders of God and His saints that even the religions we know today are unable to portray their magnificence par excellence. This serves to motivate us to want to be at peace with life and to be with God and to have the Godliness within us. This is the truth of God which is the Inner Truth for which heavenly messengers like Lord Bo Tien and any prophet or other saints would like us to know.

"To all heavenly saints I greatly adore
I believe in your existence
and thy glory is in the thought of man
I seek for thy protection and guidance
so as to live better for the time to come"

The doctrine is in nature and nature is the doctrine
The doctrine is in the image and the image is the doctrine
The doctrine is God and God is the doctrine.
There is divinity in yin yang reality
Heaven is real for the wise
Like the Grand Canyon of life

Live life with what you can have and leave the rest to God and saints

No 244 of Living Life Series 1

If you are keen for the job you have now or the life you are in now, then stick on and give present opportunity a try for the next opportunity not easy to come bye and may not be as rosy. You may be unhappy with what you have for now. Matters may not be as you think they are for the present. This would be the advice of saints.

If you are somewhat not as satisfied with the state of affairs you are in for now, leave matters in the hands of God and saints and don't try too hard. Do not struggle and torment yourself. We are after all not God and saints and we are just humans. Let the saints above do what they can for us. Be at peace and be man.

Man can do that much and see that much but God and saints can do more and see more. Hope we be reminded of this time and again. Whilst man must help himself, and that would be commendable, God and saints will do more as they can see better what are to come and what we can have or cannot have.

We are like the blind men who can only know one part of the elephant but God and saints would know more of the whole elephant. There is life beyond what we know and beyond what we have and yearn to have. Go for it and do not lament. Leave matters to the hands of the lord. Make the stand to live and to be happy. We will be better off that way.

As Confucius did say that the important thing is not to stop moving. It is not how fast we move or what we have or can have. We need only to move on even if we are wee bit slow at times. We must not stop moving and living life.

When we have done well in life, it is natural to expect more but this may hurt ourselves instead.  Take stock of our mind and be easy on ourselves. Do not be hard on oneself and snuff out the zest in life.

Pray to heaven and give thanks. Live a peaceful life. Do not expect too much or give up in anything we do or in any relationship or liaison.  Be thankful that God bless and that is what matters most. That way, we will be at peace and not fighting with ourselves or with others.

Everyone who is God centred in life will attract the guiding saints or overseers. Do what one can as human and in the world of yin yang swirls and leave the rest to the lords. We never are gods and saints as long as we are in human form but we can have the guidance of the saints and that will make our imperfect life of man somewhat more perfect and blissful.

We must have the correct mindset, otherwise we think we are unfortunate when in fact we are relatively fortunate. Even the better ones amongst men are still tainted by the realities or woes of yin yang twists and that is the reality and for that alone, we can only do that much and leave the rest to God and saints. Life will be more palatable that way. Then peace of life is more a reality than a dream.

We may think we have half a loaf but this should be good enough for now. In fact, the perceived half loaf may be one whole or perhaps the best we can have for now. Half a loaf is better than none. Live life and move on with what you can have and leave the rest to God and saints.

Peace in life mainly from changing not men or situations but the way we handle them

No 243 of Living Life Series 1

We cannot change the world and others. We cannot change ourselves but we can certainly change the way we handle the world.

If we try to change the world or others, we will not be at peace, more so if we try to change things in a very big way. That will upset the status quo and destroy any semblance of peace that we may have.

We must accept ourselves for what we are and can be. We too must accept others for what they are and what they choose to be or do. We must also accept situations but change the way we handle situations.

We must try not to correct situations and most times, we may not be able to do so. We can usually still change the way we can better handle situations even if we cannot change situations. It will be onerous and taxing to want to change and correct situations all the time.

It will likewise be ridiculous to change or correct others as well. That will often bring on conflicts and relationship issues

Go for the peace by being at peace with situations and others. If change is needed, easier to change the way we handle situations than even to change ourselves let alone others.

This is the doctrine of life. We learn from the truth of life as it unfurls. Life is our living bible or gospel and we must value it. We learn from our own life and from the life of others. This is the teaching of all saints and Lord Bo Tien too is no exception.

We must cope with life often by not trying to change the world, let alone ourselves but we need to learn how to change the way we handle life, situations and others. Cheers and that will be the way to peace in life for most of us. Even God cannot change or correct men, let alone we men trying to do what God would not do most of the time.

Go for peace in life often by changing not men (be it others or oneself) or situations but changing only the way we handle them. We do not try to correct or change men. We do not need to change oneself as well. We don't need to change situations. We do need to change how we handle situations and men. Only on rare instances, would it be worth while to change men and situations. This would be the exception rather than the norm.

For in life, we do have to go with the flow but not be at mercy of the flow if we want to maintain the peace and be happy. In life of polarities of yin and yang, we cannot run away from yin and yang but we can flow along and make sure somehow we are not tossed around by yin and yang. We must be on top of and be at peace with yin yang of life. This is  depicted by the pakua or by the seated image of Lord Bo Tien with feet atop the elements.

Yin and yang may swirl round and round but we must stand still and be at peace like the centre of the pakua

or like the lotus serene and at peace above the mud and water

Glimpses of The New Age Doctrine

No 242 of Living Life Series 1

Thoughts for the day, courtesy of BWY

 (1) Lemonade of life need us to have sugar and water, not just lemon  from lemon tree. Sages and saints can provide sugar and water of life while we grow our lemon tree of life to produce lemon fruits. But such fruits cannot be lemonade of life if we do not have sugar and water of our own.  Help from sages and saints can make the difference.

(2) Shit of life can be channeled to grow lemon trees if we know how. They need not pollute our life and make it stink to high heaven. We must turn our misfortunes into fortunes and that must be done somehow, some way and whenever we can, for no way we can stay away from shit all the time. More of lemon trees we must have and then we can have more sweetness out of lemonade in life.

(3) "Neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you" Matthew 7:6
Do not cast pearls to swines or this be sheer waste but cast them to  oysters and bigger pearls there will be. Do not waste time trying to win over those not ready for the doctrine but do so only for those who are prepared, primed, ready and receptive. Evangelism can be misdirected.

The above are glimpses of new age doctrine format presented by BWY. The presentation or format is more appealing to the new generation  so as to rejuvenate the religious thought and fervour. Otherwise, the good works of the old may not see the light of the day in time to come.
whole chicken on its own
not appealing as the ultimate
 dishes they end up in

That is why there must be new sects and new ways, new forms of approach but only involving mere modification of substance.

This is just like new ways of cooking the chicken but the outcome will make the difference if we innovate, repackage and re -invent. The dishes may be different and may even be new but the meat used is still chicken. The garnishing and other ingredients need to be different. Even fried chicken cannot be the same way it is fried over the decades. That is why we have modern fast food chains for fried chicken.

New age dishes or religions or sects of a given religion need to come on stream and are unavoidable. The above should be the thoughts for the day. Let us call this the new age doctrine. This certainly may be the way to go. Isn't this food for thought? Or perhaps they afford glimpses of  manifestations of the new age doctrine format for the truth of ancient wisdom to make it simple  and more relevant for the new generation and era.

We must never ever insist that we stick to the old and decry the new. We must not be die hard fundamentalist or be lost and buried in history. Even God sends down new saints and prophets from time to time to better meet and keep pace with the march of time. Some may not agree and this will be alright .... just a bone of contention and we can always agree to disagree.

There are many roads to Rome and there are many religions and sects committed to God. There are many ways to apply the same principle, the same one truth of God and saints. This is the Inner Truth message for which Lord Bo Tien is a divine messenger of God. There is unity in diversity. There is convergence in divergence.

There is balance and harmony of yin and yang  for the 'sages'  amongst men who wield mastery of yin and yang but not so for the many 'lost' in web of yin and yang. The mastery is depicted in the symmetry and balance of the pakua where every point is both the beginning and the end and yet there is no beginning and end. Just like existence be it for the universe or that beyond, there is both a beginning and the end and yet no beginning and no end.

If there be need for choice of way to peace in life, is there a need to follow any specific way or to choose the best of the spread like in buffet of sorts?  Yes, we need not be aligned to any way but can pick a bit here and a bit there so long as the combination makes sense for us. But fundamentalists will raise hue and cry that this is not the way.

The one who belongs to no religion, the so-called free thinker, is actually no free thinker at all but he is a believer of what he thinks is believable and best for him. He is likely to be one who has doubts and will pursue the doubts. He will not be cowed to believe wholesale but will choose from the buffet of spread of beliefs and have his say and way.

This has been remotely referred to by Lord BoTien when He said that we should not be upset if amongst those who come to us, there are those who disagree and have doubts. Doubts can be healthy and if they can be overcome, the seeker of life will be stronger in affinity with God and saints even if he started out as non believers of God and saints.

The new age doctrine will lead to bigger share of beings who believe in God or Divinity but who are both non aligned to any religion and yet believe in some way to all. But religionists will be ruffled by them and feel threatened. This group has grown in sizable proportion and has made impact in new age society. but this does not necessarily spell the drop in popularity of institutional religion.

On the contrary, if men of religions adopt an open and liberal mind, more accomodative, perhaps a wee bit less dogmatic fundamentalist stance, the opposite effect may be the case. "Take it or leave it approach" must be relegated to the incinerator, or at best, be on back burner, or perhaps just take a back seat.

Ultimately, we must remember that religion is only a means to the end but not the end itself. The end is inner peace of spirit in God or Divinity. You can have this even if you say there is no God but only goodness of life. There is no need to squabble over, terms, names, semantics and concepts.  After all, a rose by any name is till a rose they say.

Thanks to BWY, this article comes about and in conclusion, let us remember what representative of Lord Bo Tien said and will say, " The lordship is not  here to start a new relgion or sect or to champion any but he did choose the frame work of a Chinese ethnic temple to begin with, for even in such a temple, the truth can be found"

Lord Bo Tien. "The doctrine (truth) is my image and the image is the doctrine (truth) "

Many like BWY are not wrong but are near to the saints like the lord even if they may be far or do not belong...... This new age approach is to be reckoned and given the limelight. The relative decline of religions if any does not mean that there will be more of the unsavory Godlessness but may spell the contrary as God and saints will have their way. Trust God and saints to make things right. 'God is' but we cannot say 'man is'.

The Presence Divine (2011 version)

No 241 of Living Life Series 1

The lord descends with a message

We praise you, O Lord

The messenger of Heaven

Lord Bo Tien

The doctrine is in the image. The image is the doctrine

You come to help and enlighten

Through you, we will always learn

To lead the spiritual life

the one and sure way

that yields peace and heaven

both mundane and spiritual

not just for hereafter

but for now as well

the inner truth way

that is the one basis

for life ease and peace

behind any faith or sway

Lord Bo Tien''s guidance.
Truth though profound is simple
Through  Bro Philip, this was said

Lord

Guide us day by day

To be better by the day

To forgive others

Just as you forgive us

This way we live life

free from mind of dis-ease

like guilt, sin and fear

but blessed with inner peace

ever so dear in life to cheer

To be better. To live and let live. To enable life
No place for fear and guilt Lord Bo Tien doth say
This be true with arch angels in the fore

O Lord

Just as you give

We too should give

Then we be richer

from giving

not just receiving

if the two we balance

and all of life as well

like yin and yang pair

of the pakua way

Or like in your seated pose

with feet on elements two

yin and yang ever so true

peace in balance that is cool

Praise be to the most high

For your presence divine

For doctrine in your image true

and image is the doctrine too

 The presence divine

Like the lotus

Amidst the muddy pool

Lord, you are our lotus

To make us peaceful

and be lotuses too

 Lord, you are our ocean

That reaches to every man

like the ocean to every a land

watering off the mud of men

Let us be part of your ocean

to reach to all men

and to many a land

to bring the great ocean

of heaven to man

To all heavenly saints, I greatly adore.
I believe in your existence
and thy glory is in the thought of man.
I seek for thy protection and guidance
so as to live better for the time to come

In you, Lord Bo Tien

and the saints of all faiths

surely we will and we can.

All faiths surely will ring

so heaven they bring

To all in God and saints

so men will live and sing

Beautiful garden at a residence in urban Singapore
A paradise beyond  the imagination of many.
Truly a glimpse of heaven on earth as you can see.

Then life be beautiful

more than a paradise

and truly Godsend

Our life be candle

to more amongst men

and to many a land

To light up not only

the blemishes to avoid

but also the beauty

as well as the void

of the yin and yang

in life of all

not just of men

in many a land

But to all below...

The world is the temple
with the sky as the roof
and thus at Bo Tien Temple,
there is the glass cone roof
Four pillars surround the shrine
They depict all faiths
and are water  pillars
depicting showers of blessings

One of the four water pillars at Bo Tien Temple

koi pond around the shrine floor
from which the four pillars arise

....the roof of Heaven above

with religions like pillars four

To make our world

the Temple of God

for one and all

This be the real temple

Lord, this did you say

Amen and peace be

to all of men

.
Hear ye, hear ye

Temple bells do ring

Cheer they bring

and awe as well

to one and all

from the temple of the lord

and all saints of God

Do bring on the bells

To make sure all's well

for near or far

though far can be near

and near be far

thus did the lord say.

In God and Saint

and Holy Spirit three

we will stand to gain

when we do pray

for divine presence be

for all and for thee

the Holy Trinity

at Temple of Heaven

for you and for me.

Octagon shrine floor with pakua

Let's go the pakua way

So peace of spirit ever be

like the calm blue sea

Not yin yang whirls

That give the swirls

and storms so cruel

Alas calm seas do go

and storms will come

Till saints we can become

By having peace eternal

serene and ever so calm

Let God and saints

show the way today

and for all days

so all can attain

the peace of saints

that stands and last

and not wax and wane

as per the pakua way.

or as some may say

as per lotus way

peace all the way

despite life sways

Pakua or lotus way

differ as they may

Tao or Bodhi way

still the same say

of inner truth way

that doth hold sway

in faiths of the day
