Reflections on life

No 46 of Living Life Series1

Give to God what is due to God.
Give to man what is due to man.

The Lord Saint is not the man.
Man is not the Lord Saint.

Worship the Lord,
But not the man.

Do respect any man
For the good in him,

But let there be no worship.

Hold no man for the bad in him,

Or you will see the devil in all men.

Love the enemy,
For the good in him.
He will be your friend
And your foe no more.

Grudge not your brother’s wrong,
Or he may be brother no more
Forgive a friend for his slip
And a new brother you will gain

Easy to see is the dust in others' eyes,
But not the dust in one’s own.
Easy to learn from others mistakes,
But difficult to see one's own

Good begets good.
Kindness begets kindness.
Respect begets respect.

A kind thought is not kind enough.
A kind word goes a longer way.
A kind action speaks louder than mere word,
And goes a mile down God's Way.

Do be kind to one and all,
In thoughts, words and deeds.
For kindness is the way,
Even of God and His Saints.
It brings out the god in man

Be kind to yourself as well.
Be more contented in life.
Want less, strive less,
And you will be richer in cheer
Rich even when poor

Do be kind but not one kind.
Pleasant you will be to one and all,
And not just to yourself

Be down beat in discontent,
And you will be poor though rich
And be unkind to yourself.
How then do you expect
Heaven to be kind to you?
Even friends stay clear of you.

Best of all lead the lotus life,
Unaffected by the yin and yang
And have ease and peace always.
You will be beacon for men
Troubled and in turmoil
Who fail to see the God's Way.
